Time goes
Seasons change
People walk beyond you
Leaving you changed

Longing for all that was
And all that's been lost
Life moves beyond you
Never mind the cost

Though the days have passed
This past you hold dear
Will continue to diminish
Year after year.

And of the hurt
It will relent
But not before ending
Not before life spent.
